Clogging is a type of percussive step dance which evolved mainly here in america from
bits and pieces of other traditional step dances such as Irish.
The Gem Cloggers teaches modern, competitive clogging. Some refer to it as Power Tap.
However, we would prefer to call our style POWER CLOGGING! Our Style is powerful,
competitive, and flexible. Modern clogging has taken its evolution several steps further
past its traditional roots in the last several years. It has become more powerful,
competitive, and flexible. Clogging dances can be choreographed to any type of music
with a good beat from traditional bluegrass or country music, all the way to hip hop and
rock.
